Rosio Piz, PA

Rosio Piz, APRN, FNP-C is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran with 21 years of service. In 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alaska Anchorage. In 2014, she completed a fellowship in critical care, emergency room, and trauma at the San Antonio Military Medical Center and University Health Science Center. In 2024, she obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate from United States University in San Diego and is certified in Family Practice by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Rosio is dedicated to providing compassionate care to all her patients, supporting them through pain management and their rehabilitation journeys. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family, enjoys tending to her koi fish, and has a passion for photography.

 

Dr. Kunal Kamboj

Dr. Kunal Kamboj is a double board-certified physiatrist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Neuromuscular Medicine. He specializes in improving function, mobility, and quality of life for patients recovering from complex medical and neurological conditions in skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Kamboj works in close collaboration with his nurse practitioner, Rosio Piz, as well as with therapy teams, nursing staff, and families to ensure a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to care. He is dedicated to helping patients regain independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals through personalized, evidence-based treatment plans.

 

Luke Shilling, PA

Luke Schilling is originally from north–central Minnesota. He started his wound care path in medicine as a Combat Medic in the United States Army in 2008 and served during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After completing his Master of Science in Physician Associate at California State University in Monterey Bay, Luke continued working in wound care and primary care in the Monterey Bay area. When not engaged in patient care, Luke enjoys stock market investing, spending time with family and friends, and engaging in outdoor activities ranging from rock climbing, hiking, and backpacking.

 

Dr. Joel Awerbuck

Matthew “Joel” Awerbuck, MD, MScM, CMD, is a certified medical director and dedicated physician. In addition to his role as Medical Director at Cypress Ridge Care Center, Dr. Awerbuck is a hospitalist and partner with Monterey Hospitalist Medical Group serving the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP). Dr. Awerbuck has worked as a hospitalist and intensivist at various hospitals in California, including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (Los Angeles) and Saint Agnes Medical Center (Fresno). Dr. Awerbuck completed his residency at UCLA Kern Medical Center and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. As a physician, he’s widely known for being passionate about educating on and explaining complex diagnoses and treatment plans to patients and families in a compassionate and thoughtful manner.
